  Maria's Heart Máriino srdce – slovenská verzia   pozri nižšie During the past year we have learned that Maria has Rheumatic Heart Disease. She was heaving very high pulse, chest pain, shortness of breath, and fatigue. Seeing doctors, she was referred to a cardiology specialist. Having done tests and ultrasounds ( TEE - Transesophageal Echocardiogram Procedure ) 2 times,   It has shown progression to the point that she needs to have surgery - Mitral valve replacement and aortic valve replacement with a mechanical valve, pulmonary vein isolation, left atrial appendage exclusion. The surgery was scheduled, however there were different outcomes of initial tests that were performed immediately prior to the cutting procedure, as a part of standard procedure. The results were not what they anticipated, the function and the performance of her heart seemed to be in better shape as what the previous tests displayed.
